I used some coordinating jean material and pre hemmed it, then gathered it. I sewed a ruffle all the way around the bottom. I made another pre hemmed ruffle that tapered on one end. I added I in on the front of the skirt top, slightly above the other ruffle. I sewed it most of the way along the edge, then began twirling it around until I got the look I wanted, ending with the tapered end in the center of the flower. Next, I began stitching it in place on the machine, going around in circles until I came to the center. This was rather difficult. In the future I'll use a couple individual ruffled pieces to make the flower. I added some binding to cover the top of the ruffle that was not part of the flower.
Adorable! How did you make the ruffle and flower?
